Sponsored by the New York State Education Department in conjunction with the Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities, the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) is an educational program that provides various therapeutic and educational services to children, aged three to five years old, with disabilities that affect their learning.
Our Preschool therapy services typically include speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy aimed at supporting children’s developmental needs. These services help children improve their communication skills, fine and gross motor skills, and overall functional abilities
The improvement of communication skills, fine and gross motor skills, and overall functional abilities in children is often supported through various therapeutic services.
Communication Skills: Speech therapy focuses on enhancing language development, articulation, and social communication skills. Speech Language Pathologists work with children to facilitate normal language development and oral motor skills.
Fine Motor Skills: Occupational therapy helps children develop fine motor skills necessary for tasks like writing, buttoning clothes, and using utensils. Occupational Therapists work on enhancing sensory integration and functional adaptive skills.
Gross Motor Skills: Physical therapy assists children in maximizing their gross motor development, which includes skills like walking, running, and jumping. Physical Therapists help enhance movement quality and facilitate functional motor control.
These therapies are essential for children, especially those with developmental delays, to reach their full potential.
